DOGS OF ALONA
Taking care of our furry friends in Alona
Dogs of Alona is an unprecedented Trap / Neuter / Vaccinate / Release / Manage (TNVRM) project in Bohol, Philippines. Since September 2016, we have enlisted the efforts of local and foreign residents, businesses and tourists, to successfully manage the population of community dogs on Alona Beach. Dogs of Alona is a project of Bohol Animal Rescue & Kindness (BARK).
Sierra Madre Divers crew show our passion for the marine environment with beach clean-ups, citizen science submissions and advocacy of responsible diving. Aside from the citizens of the seas, we also love the furry residents of the land! Our crew volunteer regularly for Dogs of Alona and at the BARK shelter, sometimes even fostering rescues.
When booking your diving with us, simply mention that you are booking because of Dogs of Alona, and we will make sure a percentage of your diving fee will be donated to Dogs of Alona and BARK to continue their important animal rescue and welfare work.
“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born.”Mary Oliver
